So many photographers are so secretive about their “process”, it makes me want to barf (all over their hasselblads). On the other hand, I have learned so much from the few that take the time to open up. This blog exists to share my personal experiences and knowledge in the areas of photography and design. Some of it learned from others, some learned through the standard “trials and tribulations” that are part of the learning process.
While I do hope this little blog helps some people out, it’s important to note that nothing beats just getting out there and shooting. The best tool you have in your photographic arsenal is often your own perseverance, experimentation and ingenuity.
About Me
Patrick’s involvement with the visual and performing arts has spanned nearly his whole life. Professionally speaking, his visual arts career took him from a Web design Intern during his first year of college, to Webmaster by the end of his second. During a short hiatus from college, Patrick took on the role of content manager and visual designer for SAN Valley Systems and later Startust.com. The latter of the two went public and was soon acquired at which point Patrick took the opportunity to return to school.
Upon returning to college at San Jose State University, Patrick concentrated on his design and photography studies, taking a role as the PR officer of the San Jose State Photo Guild. Patrick currently holds a B. A. in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design and minor in Photography from San Jose State University (2007).
During his final semester of college, Patrick became employed as a technical writer at SonicWALL, a leading provider of business-class Internet security products. In his first year, Patrick’s art direction and writing skills completley transformed the company’s printed documentation, helping them earn a rare “5-star” documentation rating from SC Magazine and kudos from revewers and customers around the world.
Apart from his work in the visual arts, Patrick continues to enjoy performing arts. At the age of 12, he began formal lessons playing flute and later, piano and guitar. He continues with these passions today as a performer and writer/arranger.

Nice blog and good pics on the site. Came to you via Jpg mag published photos of Akihabara. I live in Tokyo and that is a good pic, nicely capturing the mood. Pretty imformative stuff here. Not a computer techy myself, aside from that which I need to know (which is probably not enough because ftp still confuses the hell out of me and I really need that for work) but straight, no-nonsence info about digital cameras here that is written in a relaxed and humourous style, like that.
Keep up the good work.
